A distinctive feature of modern construction work is the use of new technologies and new building and finishing materials. So, for example, for the restoration or insulation of facades of houses, various facade panels are increasingly being used. And since for many the most familiar material for construction is brick, it is facade panels with a “brick-like” surface that are in greatest demand. Of course, the question is quite legitimate, why can’t you use natural brick? It is possible, but … Is it advisable to insulate the existing walls of the house, for example, by lining them with brick again? Probably not, it’s expensive. Further. The load on the foundation and load-bearing structures will increase several times — will they withstand it? Efflorescence may appear on the new masonry. Over the years, restoration of the surface may again be necessary — the brick cracks under the influence of weather conditions, loses its external attractiveness, and the seams crumble. But the facade panels, thanks to the special production technology and the raw materials used, are absolutely devoid of all these problematic nuances.

Types of facade panels for brick

As mentioned above, for the manufacture of facade panels (hereinafter referred to as «brick-like» panels), different materials are used, and it is they that allow them to be divided into several types: metal, plastic, based on stone talc. Since metal facade panels are usually used for facing industrial buildings, we will dwell on the remaining two types of facade panels in more detail. So… Facade panels based on stone talc are produced with the addition of various polymers and stabilizers. This makes it possible to give them a high degree of resistance to mechanical damage and the effects of an unfavorable external environment, including increased resistance to fading in the sun. In addition, various two-component water-based paints are introduced into the forming composition, due to which panels are produced in the widest range of colors and shades. Another technology for the production of such facade panels involves the use of specific additives that form the surface texture, like a natural brick — rough, chipped, corrugated or smooth. It is this type of facade panels that best imitates the “facing brick” surface, both visually and tactilely. As a building material, such a brick cladding consists of panels 3 mm thick (in total!) With a special locking system for attaching to each other. Finishing with similar facade panels under a brick is carried out without preliminary erection of the frame — the panels are attached directly to the wall (brick, concrete, plastered) with the help of dowels.

Brick-like plastic facade panels

This is an equally popular type of facade panels used for outdoor finishing work. Such panels are made from various polymers with the addition of specific additives, stabilizers, modifiers to improve quality and performance. The most popular and available to a wide range of consumers panels based on PVC (vinyl). They can be of two types:

• With a homogeneous structure. Simple panels imitating the surface of a brick;
• With a combined structure. In these panels, a layer of polymer coating is applied to the insulation layer.

Finishing with facade plastic panels of both types is carried out in the same way — either on the frame, or glued to the base (wall). The panels are connected to each other with a special lock. Just like panels based on stone talc, plastic panels are available with a surface that imitates various types and shades of brick.
