Cypress trees should not be planted in wet places, in lowlands, near birches, in conditions of dry shade, strong gas pollution, blown terrain, as well as in calcareous soil.

These conifers are also afraid of winter burns. Therefore, in the fall they are covered with agrofiber. But you can do without it, just be prepared that the top can burn and dry out. Then the plant itself will choose a new branch-guide and start growing again.

If your climate zone is not 6 or 7, then due to regular freezing, the cypress tree is unlikely to grow tall.

Such a process is carefully torn off “with a heel”. Cuttings are harvested at the end of winter.

There are two ways to root cuttings.

Traditional: immerse the “heel” in wet sand to a depth of 1.5 cm, cover with a plastic bottle and put in a warm place, periodically maintaining humidity.

Non-traditional (did not try): wrap the “heel” with wet sphagnum moss and a wet cloth, put it in a plastic bag, tie it up and hang it on a warm window.
