Choosing a place and type of waterfall design

Stages of building a waterfall

Under the concrete structure of the waterfall, an iron frame is made, welded from metal structures, which will serve as the basis. From such durable elements, you can build a cascading waterfall.

The resulting metal structure is concreted, waterproofed and, after drying, covered with limestone or pebbles, in accordance with the owner’s idea. It is more profitable if you arrange a closed circulating water circulation system with a hidden pump.

The bowl begins to be made from the device of the pit. The foundation is built in such a way that the side of the base slopes diagonally down to the pond. To do this, formwork is installed and poured with concrete with hydrophobic additives to prevent cracking.

Then a vertical horizontal pouring of the concrete mixture is done. After that, the structure is left for 10 days to dry completely. In order for the waterfall to serve for decades in the country, it is covered with a waterproofing mixture.

A hose with water is pulled into the finished base from the pond bowl to the top of the waterfall. The base is fixed with cement, a penetrating primer is applied and laid with stones that are glued horizontally to the base. No gaps should be left between the stones so that the water does not erode the base. Pasting over the bowl of the pond and the structure of the waterfall, a place is chosen for the pump, which is masked by the decor.

Flowering aquatic plants: water lilies, pistii and capsules, will purify the water and betray contemplation to a pond with a waterfall. And if you add lighting, illuminate the stones or run lanterns into the water, then at night the pond will turn into a fantastic sight.
